Learn How to Start Outlook in Safe Mode

Starting outlook in safe mode is suggested when there is something wrong with outlook. In safe mode, outlook loads without many of the customization files and add-ins loaded. If outlook works properly in safe mode, then there is a problem in your add-ins or customization files.

You can use one of these methods for starting outlook using a command line switch:
  •    Press control key and click on outlook shortcut.
  •   If you are using Vista or Windows 7, write outlook.exe/safe in the start search field in the start menu. And, then press enter. If you are having any confusion or query, connect with outlook email technical help support and get online help.
  •    In windows 8, press windows key to drop back to start screen, then type outlook.exe/safe.
  •   If run is shown on the start menu, then click on it and write outlook.exe/safe in the open field and Click on OK.

In most of the cases, you need to type outlook or outlook.exe, but occasionally windows complain that it cannot find the file. Whenever it happens, you need to use the full path to outlook.  
The Default location is mostly C:\program files\Microsoft office\office XX, where XX is your version number. You can search it or you can look on the Quick launch shortcut for the file path. You can perform this by right clicking on the outlook shortcut on quick launch toolbar and select properties. The default switch is /recycle, you can easily replace with /safe. Press Apply and then double click on the shortcut to run it. When the outlook opens, replace safe with recycled and click on OK.
